"Your daddy became your angel, he will do everything to make us happy". Help the family of a Ukraine Army sodlier Roman Chornobay fallen in Russian-Ukrainian war

"He was real. Honest, sincere, cheerful, very kind, like a child, always smiling. I felt that he needed us. I felt protected, felt his care and attention, warm gentle words, even there in the war, on the phone, he said that he loved us and would soon return... After losing his mate, you die with him. You don’t have the fear of death anymore, and what could be worse than this? Roman made me a happy woman. He was a real man, did everything to make us with Matthew always joyful and happy", says Tetiana recalling her husband, commander of the 128th detached separate mountain infantry brigade Roman Chornobay deceased in Russia-Ukraine war in Donbas, east Ukraine.

The two young people met on Tetiana's Day. That day she received a text message with greetings from an unknown number. "I replied, thanked and asked who that was. Message by message, we began to correspond daily. On March, 8 I heard his voice for the first time, sincere and nice. So we began to speak on the phone. I was in Kharkiv, Roma in Mukacheve. As I learned later, Roman took my phone number from my brother, with whom he served in the Ukrainian Army", says Tetiana.
After the wedding, the young family started to build up their life. First, they lived in a small room of the hostel because Roman started a military career, and then got a small studio apartment. Tetiana says that after the wedding, first, Roman said that he wanted a child. "I said let's wait a bit, because we have just started a family. However, I was very pleased to hear about his enthusiasm for having children. We waited for 2 years. Then we had Matthew. Roman was always there. When I got pregnant, he was so attentive to me and during the childbirth we were together. Then Roman took a month leave to help me with my son. He was cooking, washed diapers, completely took over all duties. Those were the happiest days of my life. I was so happy to have near this amazing and extraordinary man", says the wife of the deceased Ukraine Army soldier.
When the war in the East began, Roman Chornobay packed his ammunition and warned his son and wife that at any moment he could go to the East. "I believed and hoped that he would not be sent there, Roman was a driver. March. April, May, June, he was at home, but all the time he lived at work, but was not sent to war. And on July 21 he went to work and in two hours came back. Even then seeing his face I understood everything", says the wife of the deceased.
The woman said that Roman called almost every day, talking mostly about Matthew, planning the future. "If something happens to me, I love you very much - these words he repeated to me almost all the time during our last conversation on the phone. These words I will always remember", says Tetiana holding back her tears.
Roman Chornobay died in an ambush near the village Logvinove in the northern part of so-called Debaltseve Curve during the transportation of ammunition. By the Ukraine President Decree number 270/2015 of 15 May 2015 for "personal courage and professionalism found in the defence of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath," Roman Chornobay was awarded the Order "For courage» III degree (posthumously). A session of the City Council Mukacheve awarded the hero with the title of honorary citizen.
The state helped the family of the deceased Roman Chornobay by paying compensation. "You know, if not for Matthew, I do not know what would have been with me now. Only Matthew gives strength and understanding that I now have to do everything to make him happy. But all know and understand that if the mother is not happy, the child cannot be happy either. My mood is transferred to him. So I try and really want to be happy, and enjoy life for Roman. For when I meet him, I am not ashamed, because he's happy, if we are here on earth smiling, not crying", says Tetiana Chornobay. Now 7-year-old Matthew studies in the second grade. The boy is growing rapidly, he needs clothes and shoes. Also the boy misses his dad’s love, care, attention and warmth. But the father cannot be replaced. Let's not leave without attention and care the family of the deceased Roman Chornobay: wife Tetiana and son Matthew.

Irina Hruzovenko speaks about her fallen husband, Ukrainian soldier of 28th detached mechanized brigade Alexander Hruzovenko

Irina Hruzovenko speaks about her fallen husband, Ukrainian soldier of 28th detached mechanized brigade Alexander Hruzovenko

"Alexander was a brave, kind and caring man. Always responded to requests for help, no matter who asked. Did everything  about the house with his own hands. He was learning all the time. Was very fond of our family and children, who have always been for him in the first place", says Iryna Hruzovenko recalling her deceased husband, Ukraine Army soldier of 28th detached mechanized brigade Alexander Hruzovenko.
Soon after the wedding, the young parents were happy to have a son, who they named Oleg. " Alexander was very happy then. All the free time he spent with his son. He read him stories, bathed our baby, sang lullabies, took the kid for walks ", says Iryna.

Since August 2014, Alexander Hruzovenko was in Maryinka, a town in the Donbas, east Ukraine, in the ranks of 28th Brigade. Iryna was then eight months pregnant. The woman says that Alexander suffered much for the situation in the country, and he said that if the enemy was not stopped then, tomorrow he can come to our homes. So the man decided to volunteer to the war in the East of Ukraine. "He went to the military recruitment office on mobilization summons”,  says Iryna. “And before leaving he bought all the things necessary for our baby, and the military ammunition for himself. He had served in the National Guard of Ukraine, so he was at once enrolled in the 1st mechanized battalion. Before the army service he worked as a builder".
During his stay in the Russian-Ukrainian war area, Alexander has not been on vacation. Has not seen his beloved wife, son, Oleg, and will not be able to hug the little Yegor, who was born after Alexander’s death, so the little son will know his dad only by photographs.

Iryna awaited greeting for her birthday, but Alexander not call. At the dawn, they covoy was shelled near Novomyhaylivka, Donetsk region. The sniper’s bullet hit the Ukraine Army soldier straight in the heart. And now, since this day, Iryna’s years without her husband count.

"The elder son, Oleg, was 14 at the time of the death of Alexander. He himself understood all. Kept this sorrow and pain inside. Rapidly matured. But it is still very hard without father. And then, Yegor had just been born, he was only three months", says Iryna Hruzovenko.

The state helped the family of the deceased Ukrainian soldier Alexander Hruzovenko by providing the compensation and housing. The children: 16-year-old Oleg and 2-year-old Yegor grow rapidly. They need seasonal children's clothing and shoes. Yegor also needs baby food. Let us help and support children who lost their father.

"He was the sun that shone and warmed us". Iryna, wife of deceased Volodymyr Momot, Ukraine Army soldier speaks about her husband

"Smart, kind and fair. In his 39 years brought up three children, built a house, planted a garden. For our family Volodymyr was a reliable support, protection, hope and confidence that everything will be fine", says Iryna Momot recalling her deceased husband, senior radio operator of 15th Brigade if transport aviation Volodymyr Momot.
After the wedding, the young Momots family began their arranging their common life. As they did not have their own home at the time, they lived in the husband's parents’ house. Soon, the couple had a son Vladyslav. This was a real joy for the young dad. "Volodymyr was very happy about the birth of the son. He helped me around with the child. Sometimes he came tired from work but first thing he asked me was if I needed help. He amused our son, sang lullabies, and as Vladyslav grew a little older, he taught him everything he could himself", says Iryna Momot.

The beginning of military pilot’s career was not easy for Volodymyr Momot. In those days, the early 90s, almost no flights were carried out, lack of funding, aircrafts in a very poor condition. "They, along with friends, with whom he served, by themselves restored aircrafts, painted, bought spare parts for vehicles and set them on their own plane, did everything in order to fly. Only real fans of their job are capable of this", says Iryna Momot.

Gradually, the situation in the army gained stability. At least we knew what to expect. Then another pleasant surprise occurred to the Momots family. They had two daughters Alina and Karina. "It was just indescribable joy for all of us, Volodymyr was glad now that he had daughters too, and Vladyslav – that now had little sisters", says the wife of the deceased Ukraine Army soldier. The woman adds that then they were happy and lived a full life. "All free time we spent with Volodymyr. Went to the theatre, strolled in the open air, walked in the forest, to the river. And the last time, went to the sea. This was our holiday just before the death of Volodymyr", says Iryna.
Volodymyr Momot, along with other members of the crew of the transport aircraft AN-30B which was downed over Slovyansk, died without having time to evacuate. Pilots at the cost of their own life, to the end drove the plane down outside the city.

The state helped the family of the deceased Ukrainian soldier Volodymyr Momot by providing an apartment and paying compensation. His wife Iryna and three children: 17-year-old Vladyslav, 8-year-old Alina and 8-year-old Karina are living in the house, which Volodymyr began to build, but the repair is not yet completed, and the apartments also need a repair. For the children it is so difficult, they feel so lonely without dad, whom they loved. Vladyslav, like his father, is going to be a military man. He is finishing high school, and the daughters Alina and Karina go to school; they love to sing and draw. They grow quickly, so they need seasonal clothing and footwear. Let us not stand apart; together we can help the family hero.

Olena tells about her husband, fallen Ukraine army soldier of 24th dtached mechanized brigade Ilya Tolochko

Olena tells about her husband, fallen Ukraine army soldier of 24th dtached mechanized brigade Ilya Tolochko

"A beloved husband and best father for our daughter Anastasia. Reliable, courageous and focused. After his death, I feel like lost part of me and it turned into the void and a continuous pain that I have to experience", says Olena Tolochko of her deceased husband, a soldier of 24th detached mechanized brigade Ilya Tolochko.

After the wedding, the young family began to equip their home. According to Olena, with Ilya it was very easy and comfortable because he had always known how to cheer up, always supported, and always brought flowers. "Our greatest treasure is our long-awaited daughter Anastasia, who was born four years after our wedding. I remember how Ilya was with me during labours, all the time near, holding my hand. I was calm and I knew that everything would be fine, because the two of us were together with each other. I saw tears of happiness in his eyes when our daughter Anastasia came to this world. And he chose the name for her. He most of all liked me and our daughter", says Olena Tolochko.

After the birth of the child, Ilya always tried around to support and help Olena. Bathed the baby and put to bed; he loved to play with her. "I remember when Anastasia was one year and eight months one day she quietly took a pen and began to draw on the walls in the room, I saw it and started to get nervous, and Ilya smiled and asked: what have you, little daughter, drawn? She said that she was drawing the sun for us, then he hugged her, kissed her and praised for the good picture. Anastasia still remembers how her father gave her a paper flower. It was March 8, and then Ilya brought flowers for me and daughter. He never forgot about us. He was always very kind and courageous, but now we have lost everything", holding back the tears say the wife of the deceased Ukraine Army soldier.

Since the beginning of Russian-Ukrainian war, Ilya decided that if necessary, he would go to the East. So after receiving mobilization summons, the man went to protect his family and all of us. "Unfortunately, for 175 days of his stay at the forefront, he had never been on vacations. Every day we spoke with him on the phone. He always reassured us, saying that soon he would return. Ilya was very worried that the childhood his daughter passed by without him, so I sent him lots of photographs. I remember how he spoke to Anastasia, and she asked for a scooter, because all the girls in the neighbourhood had one. When Ilya got next salary, he sent me money and asked to buy a scooter for the daughter. The next day, Anastasia was so happy and was telling her dad what a good scooter she had now. Ilya did everything for the child and cherished her. And she knew that father was buying everything and she was very proud", says Olena Tolochko.

Ilya Tolochko was killed during a combat mission near the village Toshkivka, Popasna district, Luhansk region, the Donbas, east Ukraine. First, daughter Nastia did not know that her dad was gone. The relatives took the girl to them, so that she did not see the funeral. A week later Nastia went with her mother to the cemetery. "I told her that her father had returned from war and would always be near looking on us from the sky, but unfortunately we could no longer see him, as he is in a deep sleep and we are unable to awaken him. To that Nastia said looking at the father’s grave: Dad is here, standing next to us and he has big wings. Over time, seeing my tears, daughter tells me not to cry, and she and dad will help me and father will protect us from heaven, because he is our angel", says Olena Tolochko. Now 3-year-old Anastasia is very proud of his daddy. In the kindergarten she tells everybody he is a hero and is defending not only her with her mother, but the whole Ukraine.

Inna Baloh, wife of fallen Ukraine Armed forces officer speaks about her husband Vasyl

Inna Baloh, wife of fallen Ukraine Armed forces officer speaks about her husband Vasyl

I can say for sure that I am happy that God gave me a husband like my Vasyl. I was very happy about it. He was a very good man, a loving husband, a caring father. During his stay in the Russian intervention area, he never an opportunity to visit us on holiday, although he had almost every day hoped that he would come soon. He had never refused to help anyone, everyone loved and respected him. But the war took my happiness from me", this is the first thing that says Ina Baloh, the wife of fallen Ukraine Armed forces officer, Captain of 128th detached mountain infantry brigade Vasyl Baloh.

After the wedding, the young family moved to the apartment, which was left for them by Vasyl’s parents. His father was a military man, so this was the determining factor for Vasyl in choosing a career. "When our first little boy was born, my Vasyl always helped me. At night, when I was exhausted and tired to the land, he stood up to the child, sang lullabies, soothed. Then my husband was transferred to serve in Vynohradove, and he was coming to us only on weekends. When it became possible, Vasyl took us to him, I signed a contract with the Ukrainian Armed Forces and together we began to serve in the same military unit", shares her memories Ina.

Inna remembers that when they had just moved to Vynohradove, where Vasyl served there were times when they even had nothing to eat and nothing to sleep on. "There was one soldier's bed in which our little boy slept. But we had always supported each other and never had any complaints about the complicated life. Then I began service in the Army, we have more money and the things went better. When I was pregnant for the second time, my husband was with me during the labour. It made us much closer together ", says the wife of the deceased Ukraine Army soldier.

When the war in the East of Ukraine began, Vasyl Baloh together with his crew went to the Donbas to defend Ukraine. "My hero did not have an opportunity to see us. He spent in the zone of Russian-Ukrainian war almost 5 months... Every time we talked on the phone, he told me how he loved us. How he wanted to get home... But it was not destined. On the day of his death Vasyl called me and said that he might soon be able to come to us, I heard shelling but he reassured that it was far away. That was our last conversation and his last words were: I love you and our children. But after 15 minutes he was killed. A splinter hit him right in the heart", says Inna holding back tears. The woman said that she heard the tragic news from her deputy commander of the brigade. "I was so shocked; I almost do not remember that felt then. This moment is all as if in the fog", says the wife of the deceased.

It has been almost three years since Vasyl Baloh died, but the hero's family - wife Inna and two sons: 13-year-old Vasyl and 4-year-old Kyrylo still cannot accept that their husband and father is gone. "They say that time heals, but this only can say those people who have not experienced this loss. You are trying to get out of this state, go to work, you begin to communicate with people, from the outside it seems that everything is forgotten. But still, in the evenings, when the kids are sleeping, you look at his photo and the tears start rolling down. In the morning, when you come to work they ask you: why are your eyes swollen, you reply that your baby does not let sleep", says Inna Baloh.

The state helped the family of the deceased Ukrainian soldier by providing an apartment and paying compensation. The children: Vasyl and Kyrylo - are growing rapidly, they need seasonal clothing and footwear, and 4-year-old Kyrylo needs funds for the services of a child psychologist and a speech therapist. Also, the boy needs orthopaedic shoes, for flat-valgus foot treatment. And also, the experts advise to attend dolphin therapy to accelerate the healing process. So let us together take care of Vasyl’s children, whose father died in in Russian-Ukrainian war.

"Our house, so joyous not long ago, the house where yesterday one could hear the children's laughter, began to drown in tears and sorrow..."

"A loving father and beloved husband. And yet, a good boss. Always and everywhere supportive and helpful. If something went wrong, Viacheslav always found a way out", this is the first that Oksana mentions about her deceased husband, district inspector of Border Guard Service Viacheslav Kuznetsov.
The future spouses met in a club. The woman says that when she was 13 her brother for the first time took her with him to the disco. There she saw Viacheslav. "He was four years older than me. It was love at first sight. From that moment we were always together"s says the wife of the deceased Ukrainian soldier.
In five years, Viacheslav and Oksana fulfilled their wish and got married and started building up their common life.
The young family lived in the house with Viacheslav’s parents. "Slavko was very responsible and a wonderful host. Everything in the house was made with his own hands: furniture in the children’s room, the shower, floor tiles, the playground. There was nothing Slavko could not do. He was a very caring and loving father. He was bringing up our son Olexiy a real man, and our daughter Daria a real princess, always fulfilled all her whims. He often gave children unexpected gifts. Sometimes, coming from work, he had a toy-car for Olexiy or a doll for Daria. Often he played with them, and also he liked to go to football matches together with the son. That they both had passion for football", Okasna shares her memories of the deceased husband, Ukraine Army soldier fallen in Donbas.

Since the beginning of the first wave of mobilization, Viacheslav received a summons. The man had already guessed what the shaky situation in the East Ukraine could turn into, and not for a moment he doubted about his choice: defend the country from the Russia-supported aggressor. Viacheslav Kuznetsov in Luhansk region was killed in a combat mission. The car, on which the man was blow on a mine. "The same day I learned the terrible news. I called the commander of the division, in which Slavko servedб and he said that her husband was gone. Arriving home, I could not hold back tears. My son, Olexiy, too, felt the grief. He tried to call his father, but the father did not pick up the phone... Our house, so joyous not long ago, the house where yesterday one could hear the children's laughter, began to drown in tears and sorrow", - says the wife of the deceased.
Now the family of the Ukraine Army soldier Vyacheslav Kuznetsov's – his wife Oksana, 16-year-old son Olexiy and 7-year-old daughter Daria are experiencing a very painful loss of the beloved husband and father. The state helped them by allocating compensation but their housing needs a repair.
Daria goes to school and enjoys everything associated with creativity. The girl loves to paint and sculpt in clay. Olexiy finishes his school and is preparing to enter the university. He wants to dedicate his life to the information technology. This requires additional financial expenses, training, and also Daria is growing rapidly, so she needs a new seasonal clothes and shoes. Let's help the children Vyacheslav Kuznetsov who died in Russia-Ukraine war, on their way to adulthood, which they will have to go without father.

Wife Lidiya about Vasyl Podolianchuk, squad commander of Ukraine Armed forces fallen in Russian-Ukrainian war

Wife Lidiya about Vasyl Podolianchuk, squad commander of Ukraine Armed forces fallen in Russian-Ukrainian war

He was a very kind person, sincerely loved children, always ready to help everyone. He never raised his voice. Near Vasyl, everyone felt quite and cozy. He anxiously cared for his family, tried to be with wife and kids as often as possible. He chose a career of a military man, 14 years he served in the army, then became a sapper.
With the beginning of Russian aggression in Donbass, east Ukraine he engaged in demining; then taught the juniors. The trouble came from where no one expected: during the probes a faulty mine blew out; Vasyl died.

The most favourite traditions of this family were fishing, hiking, and trips to the sea. Unfortunately, the spouse quite often could not have vacations together, but for Vasyl main priority was the vacations of his wife and children. He loved them dearly.
With the Russia-Ukraine conflict, everyday life turned to anxious suspense.
Father often called home and assured that he was alright. This is why the terrible news crippled the family, they still cannot get over it.

Kateryna Yermak tells about her deceased husband Ukrainian Army officer, major at the 30th detached mechanized brigade Oleg Yermak

Kateryna Yermak tells about her deceased husband Ukrainian Army officer, major at the 30th detached mechanized brigade Oleg Yermak

"Oleg died in hospital, in my eyes... I said to my daughter that her dad has become a star and now is shining to us from heaven..."

"Oleg was cheerful and fair, always supported and helped me. He valued his friends. Respected his subordinates. In any situation, remained prudent and had a great sense of humour. He was a true officer, husband and father", first thing that Kateryna Yermak tells about her deceased husband, a Ukrainian Army officer, major at the 30th detached mechanized brigade Oleg Yermak.

Soon after the marriage, the young happy family gave birth to daughter Nadiya. "When Oleg found out I was pregnant he at once said that during the childbirth he will be with me. He was next to me all the time, helped and supported. It happened that after the birth of our daughter, I fell ill. And Oleg actually took over all the duties and care about me and about Nadiya ", says the wife of the deceased Ukraine Army soldier. The woman says that her husband spent much time at work and all his free time he devoted to her and their daughter.

"We loved long walks out-of-doors, often went to the parents, we actually never stayed at home. My husband’s profession made us lead an active lifestyle. He loved sports, played football with friends. And he taught our daughter to swim, it was her dream. Also he instilled in her a love of nature. Together they fed the birds in winter. And also, Nadiya loves horses. This is also from her daddy", says Oleg Yermak’s wife.

Since the start of the war in the east of Ukraine, Oleg Yermak was very worried about the country's future and his family. The man realized that the war was inevitable, and his duty was to protect his land and family. Together with his friends, Oleg Yermak went to the Russia-Ukraine war zone on the first days. He phoned home every time he had opportunity. Kateryna says that he never told what he experienced there: "I was always very nervous, because the 30th Brigade had many casualties. But Oleg asked not to worry and promised that everything would be fine".

Last, Katheryna and Nadiya saw their husband and dad two weeks before his death. A few days later there was a call from Oleg’s friend, who told Kateryna the tragic news – her husband was wounded during a combat mission in Artemivsk and was now in intensive care. The woman tried as soon as she could to see her dear one. Instantly, she packed and left home, and the minute she entered the hospital room Oleg died. "He died in my eyes. I hoped to the end that the doctors would save him. But the miracle did not happen", barely holding back her tears Kateryna Yermak says.

The state helped the family of the deceased Ukraine Army soldier Oleg Yermak by paying the compensation. But the family do not have their own housing, they are waiting in a que, so they have to rent it. The baby is growing rapidly, she needs new clothes and shoes. And also, Nadiya dreams of rollers and a bicycle. Let's together make the dreams of the daughter of the deceased Ukraine soldier come true.
