FAMILY

Soon Anna will finish school, but her father will not come to the prom, her father who promised her to support in the further study. They now live with her mother in her grandmother’s home, the do not have their own housing.

"Kind and quiet. A reliable adviser and friend. A loving father", says Tetiana of her deceased husband, Ukraine Army soldier, private of 30th detached mechanized brigade Olexandr Zakusilo.

They met when the girl was graduating. After several months of dating, Olexandr proposed to her. Tetiana, with no long hesitation, accepted. So they created the family. The young couple lived with Olexandr’s mother in a small village house, had a farm. The 2000s were difficult years economically. "Olexandr worked in the local agricultural cooperative, where wages were not paid in cash, but in products so that one could sell himself and survive", says Tetiana. Soon Tetiana and Olexandr were glad to have a child, a daughter who the named Anna. "Olexandr loved her. All his free time he spent with us. Helped in every way. Amused child, played, read fairy tales. When our little daughter began to grow up and went to kindergarten, instilled in her a love of sports", says the wife of the deceased Ukrainian soldier.

Since his youth, Olexandr Zakusilo was fond of sports: boxing and football. It was more than a hobby, for Olexandr, to the extent possible; he tried to attend the contests. He attained certificates and awards, but only at the amateur level; he did aim have an aim to move to professional sports. Also, he had many friends who supported his passion, playing with him and attending football matches.

"Olexandr was always able to prioritize. Maintaining his family and his work were his first priority, and only then - sports, so it's never hurt each other. On holidays, together we went to the local recreation zones: parks, lakes and woods. We planned to go to sea, but pour whole life disturbed, so we did not, and now it will remain a pipe dream", sadly says the woman.

It so happened that the ways of Tetiana and Olexandr split. But this in no way affected their relationship and communication. The child, their daughter Anna, was every time happy and waiting for the meeting with father, when the man came from Kyiv, where he worked.

Since the beginning of Russian-Ukrainian war, Olexandr Zakusilo received a summons mobilization. "He just arrived from Kyiv, packed his things and told us that he was going to defend the country, because it was man's responsibility and duty to the homeland. Of course, I was very worried, but could not change his mind. Once the man had decided, so be it", says Tetiana Adamovych.

Olexandr often phoned home to say that he was alright. "He even happened to come on holiday for a few days, but he never saw daughter again. It was while she stayed at her aunt’s, and this is another region", sadly says Tetiana. The last time she spoke with Olexandr over the phone two hours before his death. The woman told him to return home, because had that opportunity. The man was seriously wounded twice, but after a little curation he at once returned to his guys, whom he could not leave alone.

"This war has again brought us together and we decided that after the return of Olexandr, we once again would live together. But perhaps it was not destined. Our daughter was longing for this!" says Tetiana holding back her tears. The woman learned about the death of Olexandr, when his brother called and told the tragic news. "I could not believe it, and then tears pored like a river", says Tetiana.

Olexandr Zakusilo died at the checkpoint near Slovyansk, during the shelling that was carried by Russia-supported militants from the uncontrolled area.

At home, the hero left his wife Tetiana and 15-year-old daughter Anna, who grieves the loss of her father so badly. "Daughter often cries and recalls her father; she lacks his attention, support and love. And she really wanted us again to live together. After the loss, she often falls ill, misses a lot of classes", says Tetiana Adamovych.

The state helped the family of the deceased Ukraine Army soldier Olexandr Zakusilo, paying compensation and giving a shelter, but their father will never return. Now his daughter Anna needs medical treatment, because the chronic stress caused by the grief provoked health problems, so the girl needs regular medical examination. But the girl keeps bravely and is proud of her dad, who gave his life defending not only his family but all of us as well. Let's help the child of Olexandr Zakusilo, a hero who died in Russian-Ukrainian war.
