Serhiy Tsyhanok, an Army officer, has devoted 23 years of his life to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As of October 2014, he was in the area of Russia-Ukraine conflict, where in February 2015 he died a heroic death, along with his brothers-in-arms. "As commander of a communication node and in the rank of colonel, my husband was not sitting in the headquarters, but along with his friends and subordinates went on missions to provide the communication. He did not want to become a general. He was always at work. You’ll have a yard time searching for such dedicated officers", this is the first thing that comes to her mind when Tetiana Tsyhanok thinks of her husband.
Since the beginning of hostilities in the east Ukraine, Colonel Serhiy Tsyhanok could not just watch the events of the war, the widow Tetiana says. "He said that he had to go, to establish the communication. I dissuaded him, but the fate decreed otherwise. Now I understand that it could not be otherwise, because Serhiy was a military and had to defend the country”. In October 2014, the chief of the 330th central node of courier post of the Headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Colonel Serhiy Tsyhanok assumed his duties in the area of Russian aggression in the Eastern Ukraine. "Acting as a commander, each day he went for a mission with his subordinates, never leaving them alone. In a brief telephone conversation Serhiy admitted to me that he knew Luhansk and Donetsk regions better than native Kyiv area", recalls the widow. One of those missions ended tragically.
The Tsyhanoks couple lived together for 16 happy years. Raised two sons Anton (born in 2000) and Artem (born 2004). Everything was good, lots of family planning and dreaming, but the war took from them the most expensive. The teenage sons were left without a father, without his support and advice. "The younger son Artem, when he learned of the death of his father was all day lying on the bed holding in the hands his father's picture and cried constantly saying to it "Daddy, Daddy ...". Every day we recall of. It is very difficult without him", says Tetiana Tsyhanok.
To live on the pension for the lost breadwinner nowadays is hard, but the family tries. However, there is a need for the things for the children, as soon will be September 1, the beginning of a new school year. Let us not leave the family of the deceased Ukrainian soldier Serhiy Tsyhanok alone with their grief. After all, he gave his life for all of us.
