Oleh Sorochenko served by contract at the border with Russia in Chervona Talivka, Luhansk region, East Ukraine. There in Luhansk he met his girlfriend Yulia, but the beloved couple did not have time to get married, the war came in the way, and it took Oleh's life. But the fate gave the beloved a daughter, who will never see her dad, but who became the sole meaning of life for Yulia.
"Oleh was cheerful and positive, always took care of me. And when he learned that I was pregnant - he was so glad! We were planning our wedding by the end of the year, but now it's just a sad memories and unfulfilled plans", says Yulia. She says they had even chosen the name for their child. Thus, if was a boy, he would be named Michael, and if a girl, then Albina. Albina was born.
"Oleh, never found out who we would have. He died when I was 13 weeks pregnant", sadly tells Yulia. By that time she worked as a nurse at the Regional Hospital. And Oleh was serving at the border. The couple talked long on the phone, planned on living. But one spring morning everything changed. On her usual way to work, Yulia noticed in the sky a Military aircraft, then the shelling began, some days later in the yard there was cannon. "Oleh phoned me and urged me to set out from Luhansk to my relatives in Dnipropetrovsk, which I did. Oleh said that the border was quiet, but the next month the attacks on their checkpoint began. August 25, 2014, we still were talking with him on the phone, but in the evening I could not get him. And in the morning I knew that Oleh was gone..." says Yulia weeping.
Today Oleh's daughter Albina remains with her mother; she studies the world around her, and what she lacks is the father. And also she needs clothes and food.
