We met at a local coffee shop in Vynohradar area in Kyiv. Ihor was in the uniform, which really fit him so much, serious, tall, handsome - a real officer. He, a serviceman, me, from an officer's family in the fourth generation, so easily our first conversation struck up. Day after day, our relationship grew into a strong friendship and then love.

He died near Logvinove village, Debaltseve district, Donetsk region.
Colonel, Ph.D., associate professor. Head of the Department of tactical and special training at the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Information, Kyiv. Head Quarters of Ukrainian Army in the zone of Russian aggression, Kramatorsk, east Ukraine, First Deputy Head of the ATO in the Luhansk and Donetsk region.

He died near the village Logvinove, Debaltseve district, Donetsk region.
He was buried in the city Kyiv on Berkovets cemetery in the Alley of Heroes of ATO.

Missing since 9 February 2015, when leaving for Debaltseve by car got under the shelling near the village of Logvinove near the Debaltseve encirclement on the road between Debaltseve and Artemivsk (Donetsk region). Also on the car were Lt. Col. S. Vasilenko (died), Junior Sergeant Alexander Makarenko (died), Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Muzyka (killed) and Colonel Sergei Tsihanok (died). Later the bodies were recognized by DNA test.

By the Decree of the President of Ukraine №270-2015r for personal courage and professionalism found in the defense of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, military loyalty oath, he was awarded the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky 3 degrees.
